My name is Matthew Todd, and I'm the founder of fluent.software.
First and foremost, I consider myself to be a software developer.
Over the years, I’ve developed some pretty interesting systems. I’ve worked with startups developing systems for realtime video analysis; designed and implemented VOIP systems for emergency call handling, and taken legacy systems only processing a few transactions a minute, to being capable of handling millions of transactions a day in realtime on less hardware.
While I certainly am proud of these systems I’ve architected, designed, and developed, and I’m proud that I’ve been able to do so far quicker than my peers, what I’m most proud of is that I’ve been able to mentor other developers I’ve worked with to do the same and to achieve the same level of results.
Through mentoring other developers, and teaching them techniques that I know, and ways to acquire the right skills rapidly, I’ve been able to help them increase their productivity by up to 7 times and improve their career prospects by going from just another developer to being recognised as one of the best developers in the company.
And that’s why I decided to found fluent software. I want to take these techniques online, and work with more developers to help improve the way we work.
